I'm doing a simple console consumer query on a test topic that should have a couple of records. FYI, I recently deleted the topic and then called a REST service to produce a record there, which recreated the topic.

This is with Confluent Platform 5.0.1 which runs Apache Kafka 2.0.1.

Googling this error, I can see https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-6631, which has the same error, but I'm not using Streams at all. My current usage is very simple.
