I just bought a new desktop computer and need to initialize 2 RAID 1 pairs on it. The motherboard is an ASUS Prime B360M-A, with 16GB RAM and an Intel Core i5 8400 on it.
I have a Corsair SSD connected to SATA-1, and 4 1TB disks connected to ports 2-5. They all come from an older desktop where they already served as the OS (Windows 10 on the SSD) and 2 RAIDs, which I have no problem re-initializing as I have all the data backed up. Your solution may delete them. I do want to keep my Windows 10 installation on the SSD if possible.
Anyway, I set the SATA mode to "Intel RST with optane..." in the BIOS, and I already changed the Boot -> CSM to Disabled. When re-entering the BIOS I do see an Intel RST menu under advanced - but it just shows me the disks (all 5 of them), but I have no option to do anything. No button to create the raid pairs or anything like it. I cannot do the CTRL+I thing either, because when I change CSM to Disabled - the BIOS doesn't recognize any boot device so it just goes back the BIOS settings.
What am I missing here, please? I've been struggling around this for 2 nights already...
Thanks,
Oren
