I have a Python 2.7 program which uses the teradata module.
Before the program worked perfectly. After upgrading the Teradata software on my machine (not the python module) from version 15.00 to 16.20 python program stopped working.
I get the following error message:
raise DatabaseError(i[2], u"[] ".format(i[0], msg), i[0])
teradata.api.DatabaseError: (0, u'[IM002] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver
Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified')
It makes sense that the driver version is no longer supported since the version is updated. The question is how can I fix this?
What have I tried so far?
In the folder where I have the Python program I have a copy of the teradata module. I replaced the existing one with a more recent version. This was not succesful.
I have also looked in the teradata module to see if I manually could update the ODBC driver. I didn't find any good place to modify the code.
My code:
def setup_teradata_session(username_,password_, environment_):
system_ = get_system_nm(environment_)
udaExec = teradata.UdaExec (appName="Something", version="1.0", logConsole=False)
return udaExec.connect(method="odbc", system=system_,username = username_, password = password_, authentication="LDAP")
