I am able to successfully decrypt the encrypted pgp file using gpg commands:
gpg --import private-key-file.asc
followed by
gpg --decrypt testfile.xml.pgp
Now I want to decrypt via Java using BouncyCastle libraries.
For this I have referred the PGPUtil.java file. I found it's decryptFile() method to be working fine for PGP keys that I generated myself. But it fails when I try to decrypt testfile.xml.pgp with secret-key inside private-key-file.asc (this asc file is provided by client).
Exception thrown is:
org.bouncycastle.openpgp.PGPException: org.bouncycastle.openpgp.PGPPublicKeyRing found where PGPSecretKeyRing expected

- Normally, there are separate files for containing public-keys and
secret-keys. Are asc files special in the sense that they can
store both together? - How to use Bouncycastle to extract only secret-key and leave public-key? Basically, how to replicate gpg decrypt commands (as shown above) using Java?
