following some advice from my hosting provide to solve an access issue on my WordPress website my .htaccess now looks like this:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %REQUEST_URI ^/
RewriteRule .* - [CO=wordpress_test_cookie:WP+Cookie+check:%HTTP_HOST:1440:/]
# BEGIN WordPress
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %REQUEST_FILENAME !-f
RewriteCond %REQUEST_FILENAME !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
</IfModule>

# END WordPress

(I took their instructions literally and pasted the code they gave before everything else). It looks dodgy to me though, with repetition and strange ordering.

Could someone please tell me what to do to have exactly the same effect with better code?
