FileBound API call GetObjectData very slow. Is there an alternative or a better API call?

I am using the FileBound API call GetObjectData call to retrieve a byte array of the document stored in FileBound. This seems to be a very slow call. Does anyone know of a better or faster way to retrieve a PDF file from FileBound?
