I'm making a project that consists in a simple image editor. You can draw, edit and delete simple shapes like squares, circles and triangles. The shapes are drawn by dragging and dropping.
The thing is: while drawing the figure (until the mouse is dropped), I wanted to display a shadow/ghost of it so the user can have an idea of how the figure will look, just like when you drag and drop on your desktop and those selected-area rectangles are shown. I'm using JavaFX for this project, and the area where the shapes are drawn is a Canvas.
Can somebody help me with this task?
Thanks in advance.

Put theCanvas
in aGroup
. When you go to draw something add the appropriateShape
to theGroup
that gives a preview of what will be drawn to theCanvas
. When the mouse is released draw the real shape onto theCanvas
and remove theShape
from theGroup
(or just hide it).
