I developed a project using Python 3.6 and now I need to run integration tests before deploying updates. The infrastructure is AWS Cloud base so I need a product that mocks all the AWS Services.
I've found the localstack and now I need to run it in AWS CodeBuild.
I can't install localstack as a dependency (using pip) because it needs to be started as a normal user and not a root user.
Searching on the internet I discovered that the localstack community created their custom Docker image but unfortunately, I can't use it because it's based on node:alpine
and I need one based on Ubuntu 14.04.
I tried but I couldn't create a Docker image (for AWS CodeBuild) that contains the localstack infrastructure already installed. I created a docker image with Python 3.6, Java, Node.js and all the services that localstack requires.
In each build, I've to reinstall localstack running this commands that I put in my Buildspec file:
- sudo -S su - ubuntu -c "git clone https://github.com/localstack/localstack.git /home/ubuntu/localstack"
- sudo -S su - ubuntu -c "cd /home/ubuntu/localstack && make install"
- sudo -S su - ubuntu -c "cd /home/ubuntu/localstack && make infra > launch_infra.txt &"
- sleep 60
After 60 seconds the infrastructure is ready to be used but I'm getting this error when I try to write something into Elasticsearch:
WARNING: POST http://localhost:4571/test_index/_doc/79628c72b262e37d51495d6b202de5d582b2c37501b62a038e2459be01f706c2/_update?retry_on_conflict=30 [status:N/A request:14.836s]
urllib3.exceptions.ReadTimeoutError: HTTPConnectionPool(host='localhost', port=4571): Read timed out. (read timeout=10)
It worked until 5 days ago and now I can't run any integration tests so I decided to find a solution to create a Docker image with localstack installed. Is there someone that managed to create that?
