So I have a php web app with a lot of integration with google APIs, but the mails available only get updated on every reload. So I want to move to push notifications.
I have the php creating a subscription per logged in user, if it doesnt exist yet, then calling watch (once per day) and then pulling the messages, and that all works. However now I'm not sure, design wise how best to move to push notifications.
I have one test subscription on the same topic pushing a post message to /webhook endpoint on my domain, and that works as well - the php is currently writing the output simply to a text file.
I thought maybe I could take the output, historyIds, for example and get the message details in the php still (as thats where im most comfortable working with the google client library) and then somehow push the details (sender, subject, etc.) to javascript to push to the service worker of every active client and show them the notification that way..
What do you guys think?
